has been a home away from home for countless s
and other outdoor enthusiasts for more than
years. Many guests are regulars who come back year after year and some
even come the same days week after week. It is not unusual for adults
to return many years later with their own children
because of such fond memories of visits in years past.
One
of the most loved aspects of
is the Great Room and its huge stone hearth. Here, lodgers
share the warmth of a roaring fire while sitting on the hearth and drying
out their ,
gloves and on really cold days, their cold backsides. Lodgers commonly
share their mountain experiences, where they have been, where they are
going, and skiing conditions of the day all to the gurgling sound
of washed gullets of or
wine and snack-munching.
It's
a BYOB, water or soda facility. Some patrons gather around the central,
cable to
watch their favorite ,
,
or movie. We have visitors from all over the United States, and indeed,
from all over the world. This unpredictable mix makes for lively conversations
and fun times.
has 12 guest rooms plus the dorms and when filled sleeps 93 guests. It
is open to group or individual reservations. There are many configurations
to the rooms , some with queen beds and private baths, others with double

and are sub-divided into smaller 4-bed cubbies with 2 bunks in each. Each
dorm has a large bath as well. There are also two 6-bed side dorms with
their own entrance and private bath.
For
those who want to be away from the lodge, the cabin up on the hill sleeps
11 eight upstairs in a large square room and a smaller room sleeping
three on the lower level with a bath.
The homey and comfortable lodge features many s
and comfortable s

fire after a day outdoors.
The
lodge is referred to as "a skier's lodge" because many serious

stay at Turn of River. It's a place where a single guest feels welcome
and has others to interact with and where families and groups also comfortably
mingle. A continental breakfast is included and guests eat at the large
refectory table. A small refrigerator is available in the common area
for shared usage, as well as a microwave for guests who would like to
prepare their own take-out meals.
